Born in Voorhees, NJ, and a proud Jersey girl, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love to read. As a child, I devoured Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes, captivated by the thrill of unraveling mysteries. But in seventh grade, when I read The Picture of Dorian Gray, I knew immediately that I wanted to be an author. I had to be one.

My love for philosophy struck like lightning in my first semester at American University, igniting a passion that shaped my academic and professional journey. This love for philosophy would continue to pull at my heartstrings while I navigated balancing the pursuit of a marketing career and diving deeper into philosophical thought and writing.

While at AU, I served as the Student Body President of the Kogod School of Business for two years before pursuing my M.A. in Philosophy & Social Policy (Applied Ethics). Graduating summa cum laude, I was honored with the program’s highest accolade: two M.A. theses with Distinction.

Seeking a way to engage with philosophy beyond academia, I launched Surface by Sasha, an artistic exploration of subjectivity and morality through philosophy-inspired paintings. In January 2022, I self-published my debut novel, The Tower of Theo—a gothic, philosophical fantasy that dissects morality, power, identity, and the nature of truth. Publishing my first book was the highlight of my life (so far), a moment that would make my younger self’s heart swell with pride.

Now I live in Philadelphia, and instead of living a double life—balancing a career in marketing and sidelining my philosophical pursuits—I’m merging my passions to make an impact on a local level. By helping my favorite spaces, cafés and bookstores, cultivate inviting digital environments, I aim to foster community and meaningful discourse at a time when thoughtful conversations are needed more than ever. Also, I’m writing my second novel, which I have been describing as a Sherlock Holmes character set in an Edgar Allan Poe universe.

This website aims to be the host of everything I’m doing. There’s a lot to explore, here. I hope you will find something that inspires you. In the meantime, if you want to stay updated on all my projects and progress, consider signing up for my monthly newsletter.

Thank you for being here. Cheers to creativity, connection, and community.
